Mine does anyway....
You know, the One True God...
I read an article recently, although I cannot remember if it was here on Townhall or elsewhere which indicated that the Bible des not actually mention homosexuality in a matter to condemn it. This article was not in defense of homesexuality, in fact, it was proclaiming the sin of it, but it did not defend the argument by pointing to Scripture. In fact, the article implied the Bible does not actually mention it.
I beg to differ.
The proof is in the Word.
Truly.
It's there.
I've seen it.
You should read it.
Here's just a sample of some of the proof (using the king James Version - if you go to Bible Gateway.com they have an awesome tool for seeing any verse in numerous versions):
- Leviticus 18:22 - Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
- Leviticus 20:13 - If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
- Romans 1:27 - And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
There are surely other examples, the above are just a few of the ones I have discovered so far. I would like to add that in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Paul points out the sin of it, but then says that homosexuals who had become believers will be delivered from their sin.
I really recommend using the tool on Bible Gateway.com to read a verse using the different translations. It really helps clarify things, especially using "The Message" translation which is written in the most clear language possible. The King James, I think, is probably the most accepted which is why I always start there, but the language in it is difficult at best and if you require clarity and really want to dig into the Word, I recommend using a number of different translations in your studies.
