I've Got a Crush on my IPOD!

I got an IPOD for my birthday.

EVERYONE should have an IPOD.

I'm a podcast junkie.  I have been using ITunes for quite awhile, just using my computer, and I have subscriptions to a whole bunch of podcasts.  I can't get enough of them, both the professional ones put out, and the more homemade ones (which are some of the best, really).

I named my IPOD.  Seriously, they give you the option to name it.  So I did.  I named it after my dog who is no longer with us, Roxie.  She was an awesome dog.  I'm a grown woman with a family and a job, and I named my IPOD after my dog.  Yes, I'm a little strange.

I got a case for this tiny little IPOD (it's a Nano) that has both a clip and a removable armband.  Roxie goes with me everywhere now.  Running, bike riding, driving (got a cable that connects it to my car stereo), making dinner.....

Even to the bathroom.  Told you I'm strange.

Here's a list of some of my favorite podcasts:
A New Beginning With Greg Laurie
Manic Mommies
101 Uses for Baby Wipes
Focus on The Family
Back to The Bible Radio
Walk in the Word with James McDonald
Wait Wait Don't Tell Me from NPR

Don't have an IPOD?  Go get one.  Seriously.  And I don't even have stock in the company!

Food For Thought

In a sense, we're all gay

After my post yesterday regarding God viewing homesexuality as an abomination, this phrase said by Jesus in the Bible popped into my head - "let he who has not sinned cast the first stone".

It's true that God views homosexuality as a sin, but it's also true that homosexuality is no worse than any of my own sins.

Sin is sin.

Plain and simple.

Repentance and faith will allow any sinner to be saved, regardless of the sin.

God declares homesexuality an abomination.

Mine does anyway....

You know, the One True God...

I read an article recently, although I cannot remember if it was here on Townhall or elsewhere which indicated that the Bible des not actually mention homosexuality in a matter to condemn it.  This article was not in defense of homesexuality, in fact, it was proclaiming the sin of it, but it did not defend the argument by pointing to Scripture.  In fact, the article implied the Bible does not actually mention it.

I beg to differ.

The proof is in the Word.

Truly.

It's there.

I've seen it.

You should read it.

Here's just a sample of some of the proof (using the king James Version - if you go to
Bible Gateway.com they have an awesome tool for seeing any verse in numerous versions):
  • Leviticus 18:22 -  Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
  • Leviticus 20:13 -  If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
  • Romans 1:27 - And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

There are surely other examples, the above are just a few of the ones I have discovered so far.  I would like to add that in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Paul points out the sin of it, but then says that homosexuals who had become believers will be delivered from their sin.

I really recommend using the tool on Bible Gateway.com to read a verse using the different translations.  It really helps clarify things, especially using "The Message" translation which is written in the most clear language possible.  The King James, I think, is probably the most accepted which is why I always start there, but the language in it is difficult at best and if you require clarity and really want to dig into the Word, I recommend using a number of different translations in your studies.

It's lonely in Immoral Land

This is me, doing a little dance.....

Imagine Angelina Jolie, now imagine her body double, now imagine her body double's cousin's wife's neighbor who has only one leg and her center of gravity is about 3 feet away from her own body.  That's me dancing....

Anyhow, the American Family Association is reporting in this story "Washington Supreme Court Strikes Severe Blow Against Gay Marriage" that the Washington Supreme Court has ruled that their law banning gay marriage does not violate the state's constitution.  That leaves Massachusetts as the only state that doesn't ban gay marriage.

A battle won in the fight for the family.  The war still wages on, but this definately is a victory!

Ain't That The Truth!

Male, Female or Other?? Seriously?

The American Family Association is reporting in the following story:
"Harvard Introduces Third Gender" that you no longer have to be either male or female to apply to the school.

I argue that this is discrimination, if you no longer have to be male or female, why stop there?  What about dogs and monkeys and dolphins?

Seriously?

Human beings come in 2 flavors, male or female.  If you're neither of these you're either a plant, a frog or just plain loopy.

Insert tab A into slot B, end of story.

Seriously?

So Really, do Chicken's Fly?

I've never seen one fly...although honestly I don't really remember ever seeing a chicken at all, aside from the ones in the meat section at my local grocery store, and if one of those starting flying around I think I'd be in the loony bin.

It's my firm belief that they don't.  I think.....

The purpose of this blog is essentially as a place for me to release my frustration at the world around me.  I don't like people, you see, and I definately don't like most of what people do or say.  Now that's not to say I'm some horrible old cat lady sitting alone in my rotten decrepid house where kids daily set fire to dog poop on my porch.  I'm actually quite friendly and chatty most times.  Even with stupid people - and let me tell you, the world is full of stupid people.  Now, if you are reading this, you are probably quite aware of this fact, but again, this is a forum for my frustrations, and stating the obvious may, in fact, be a part of all that.

If you read my bio prior to reading this post, you are probably wondering where the Christian woman is.....she's here....no worries.  See, that's where the sinner comes in.  I'm a sinner before anything else, I was born that way, you see.  And sinners, especially us pesky human ones are somewhat prone against loving our neighbor, especially if that neighbor is a 600 lb ogre who eats dogs....and you happen to have one - a dog that is.  The Bible tells us not only to love our neighbors, but to love our enemies as well.  We must reflect the love of God, not the hatred of the Devil towards even those who eat our dog for lunch.  Well, I'm doing my best, but I am prone to occassional outburst of anger and frustration.  I'm working on it, but am often highly flammable where stupidity is concerned.

Anyhow, as my bio reads, I am desperately searching to find some semblance of moral and Christian values in our screwed up world where people place nothing but "me, myself and I" as their highest priority and where the selfish nature of humans attempts to rule and stomp out all that is good and right and true.  This blog will be a reflection of quite often random, ocassionally witty, and on rare occasions thought provoking musings of your average Christian Mom who between changing diapers and cleaning worm guts out from underneath fingernails, cares about the salvation of souls....even the stupid ones.
